Who we are

Klooflyn builds and hosts websites for South African businesses. This policy explains what personal information this website (klooflyn.com) collects, why, and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect, and why

• When you send us an enquiry: your name, business name, email address, WhatsApp number (if you give it), your current website and your message. We use it only to reply to you and prepare a quote.
• When you use the speed test: the website address you type in is sent to Google PageSpeed Insights to test it. We don't store it, and it isn't linked to you.
• When you visit: like every website, our hosting keeps short-lived technical logs (such as your IP address and the pages requested) to keep the site running and stop abuse.

We don't sell or share your information, and we don't add you to any mailing list.

Cookies

This website doesn't use cookies for tracking or advertising, and has no analytics that follow you. It only keeps small technical notes in your browser, for example that you've seen the cookie notice.

Where your information goes

The website is hosted by Fly.io. Enquiries are passed on by Cloudflare to our email inbox, which is run by Google. Some of their servers are outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to POPIA.

How long we keep it

If you don't become a client, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you do, we keep your details for as long as we work together, and invoices for as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email adriaan@klooflyn.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you're not happy with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

Our clients' websites

For websites we build and host for clients, the client decides what their site collects and has their own privacy policy (part of the POPIA pack we include). We look after that information on their behalf.
